Overview

Our latest spot for the Consumer Apps Helpfulness campaign launched during the 93rd Oscars. To extend our Accessibility creative platform beyond the spot itself, we sought to impact the actual accessibility of the program.

What We Did

Google sponsored the closed captioning and audio descriptions across broadcast and streaming platforms.

Why This Matters

Google, ABC and The Academy brought audio descriptions to the program for the first time - ever. In addition to closed captioning, which creates program accessibility for deaf and hard of hearing communities, audio descriptions enrich program accessibility for blind audiences. Google’s commitment to programming accessibility will continue beyond the Oscars into the 2021 NBA playoffs on TNT.
